Khammam: New Vision School’s annual cultural fest ‘Jamboree -2017’ was held on a grand note here on Friday. Khammam mayor Papalal, Padma Shri awardee Vanajeevi Ramaiah and his wife attended as chief guests and lighted the traditional lamp.

Addressing the students, Papalal praised the event, which eases out pressure of the students. He appreciated the management for organising the event in a grand way.

On the occasion, the school management felicitated Ramaiah who got the Padma Shri recently and handed over a cheque for Rs 10,000 to him. Later, he planted a mango sapling on the school’s premises, and appealed the students to plant trees.

CHGK Prasad Babu, chairman of the school said they have been organising the Jamboree from 2011 in a grand way. Principal Abad Ali said aim of Jamboree was to make students participate in cultural programmes actively.

Meanwhile, students performed to several traditional, folklore and western songs. School director Gopichand, 22nd Division Councillor Narayana Rao, principal Abad Ali, Michail, Madavi, V V N Raju, staff and students participated in the programme.
