Nizamabad: The National Students Union of India (NSUI) of Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts jointly organised a dharna at the NTR junction in the town on Friday protesting against the intemperate remarks of Peddapalli MP Balka Suman against the former Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki.

They also burnt an effigy of Balka Suman on the occasion. Lashing out at Balka Suman, district NSUI president Vipul Goud said that it was highly deplorable on the part of Suman to criticise a person like Madhu Yashki Goud who played a key role for tabling the Bill on the formation of Telangana State in Parliament.

Suman does not have the stature to criticise Mahdu Yashki Goud, he added. Vipul Goud was also critical of Nizamabad MP K Kavitha and said that she did nothing for the development of Nizamabad during the last two-and-a half years.

She should explain as to how the funds released under the MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) were spent, he demanded. He said that it was not true that the Nizamabad MP spent Rs 1,000 crore for the development of the district.

Goud said that they were ready with adequate proof to expose the culprits under the money laundering scheme and challenged them if they were ready for an enquiry. NSUI leaders Afroz, Tony and Mouli were present on the occasion.
