Bodhan: Commercial Tax Department has issued notices to 114 rice-mill owners, who allegedly evade taxes and created fake bills, here on Monday.
On a tip-off, Commercial Tax Commissioner conducted raids here at commercial tax office. Speaking to the media, the Commissioner said that during the years 2013-15, bogus bills reached Rs 40 crore.
He also said that the Enforcement Directorate officers were already scrutinising those bills.He said that stringent action would be taken against the persons who were involved in the fake bill scam.
A top district official has already suspended the three employees of Bodhan Commercial Tax Office.
Additional Commissioner Satyanarayana Reddy and Deputy Commissioner Lavanya were also present.
