​Khammam: Representatives of the Auto Workers Association demanded the government to suspend the Gazette notification No 1183 of enhancing of licence and fitness certificate charges on vehicles.

Giving a representation to District Collector here at Collectorate on the occasion of the Grievance Day, the district leader of the Auto Workers Association Joint Action Committee Md Y Pasha said the Gazette notification No 1183, issued by the Central government for enhancing the licence and fitness certificate charges, will become an extra burden on the transport workers who are living in miserable conditions.

He also said many illiterate and unemployed youth were earning their livelihood by driving autos, trolley, jeeps, tractors and lorries and were facing severe problems in taking care of their families with little income.

“The Gazette notification will affect their small business and drive them into serious problems,” he pointed, demanding the government to withdraw the notification immediately to save the unemployed youth who were dependent on transport business.

Leaders of the Auto Workers Association, Upendar, Ramaiah, Palvoncha Krishna, Viplav Kumar, S K Nuruddin, Narayana and M Lakshman Naik were present along with others.
