To create awareness on legal matters among the students, a Mock Adalat was conducted at Zilla Parishad High School at Gangirenigudem of Shayampet mandal of Warangal Rural on Saturday.

​Warangal: To create awareness on legal matters among the students, a Mock Adalat was conducted at Zilla Parishad High School at Gangirenigudem of Shayampet mandal of Warangal Rural on Saturday.

The students donning the roles of judges, lawyers and accused persons and conducting hearing of cases impressed the guests, school staff and local villagers. The students were trained by social sciences teacher Kaleshwaram Prakasham.

Parkal senior civil judge J Jeevan Kumar has attended as the chief guest of the programme conducted on the school premises. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the students for their efforts in conducting the Mock Adalath.

He advised the students to not to fall prey to infatuation during their school and college days and wanted them to focus on their academics. He explained about anti-ragging Act, Nirbhaya Act, domestic violence Act, the Acts on preventing child marriages and child rights protection. He asked the villagers fight against the menace of illicit liquor.

The students performing at ‘Mock Adalath’ have held hearing on the cases connected with IPC Sections 498A, 304B, 193, 307, 354, 373, 420, 506 and others depicting the real court scene. They explained the provisions of PD Act, while advising locals not to involve in brewing or selling of illicit liquor.

A test was conducted for the students on the constitutional articles 352, 360, 16, 17 and 73. Advocates Rajamouli, Vijay Pal Reddy and Raji Reddy explained the students on several legal issues.

Village sarpanch P Krishna Murthy, SMC Chairman M Shankar, police sub-inspector J Naresh and others lauded the school teachers and students. Students B Mounika, B Ganesh, Manasa, Dhana Laksmi and B Balaji performed took part in the court scenes.

School teachers D Satish Kumar, Ugender Rao, B Srinivas, P Kishan, P Viveksagar and Md Mumtaz Ali were present.
