Banswada: Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the State government was spending more money towards the development of education and advised the students to avail the opportunity.

He inaugurated the new building for government junior women college here on Tuesday.While addressing the gathering, he said that earlier governments allocated only Rs 25 lakh for the college. After the formation of Telangana State, the Chief Minister allocated more than Rs 1crore and 70 lakh to complete the college building construction.

The Minister said that there were 400 residential colleges working right now and in the coming days, there would be more than 1000 residential colleges would be set up.

Providing quality education in government schools and corporate schools was the main aim of the Chief Minister, the Minister said. He gave away awards to students who excelled in various competitions.

Earlier, he attended the annual celebrations of SRNK, Government Degree and Junior colleges.
