Officials asked to allot work under MGNREGS: Peddapalli Collector
Allot 100 days of work under Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to everyone, who asks for work and issue job cards to them, District Collector Dr V S Alagu Varshini directed the officials. She chaired a meeting with MPDOs at Decent Function Hall in Peddapalli on Tuesday.Â
​Peddapalli: Allot 100 days of work under Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to everyone, who asks for work and issue job cards to them, District Collector Dr V S Alagu Varshini directed the officials. She chaired a meeting with MPDOs at Decent Function Hall in Peddapalli on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said the officials should strive to place the district on top position in implementing MGNREG Scheme. For this, she ordered them that they must take necessary steps by allotting jobs to all to complete various pending works such as laying roads, construction of toilets and restorations of burial grounds in the district along with arranging medical kits, tents and drinking water.
Attending as a chief guest at the meeting, TSRTC Chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana suggested the officials to take steps for providing employment opportunities under Employment Guarantee Scheme to villagers, since many of them have been migrating to towns and cities in search of jobs for their livelihood.
He also said suggested the officials to work in coordination with each other and release money immediately to the beneficiaries, who constructed toilets to make the district Open Defecation Free.
MLA Putta Madhu suggested the officials to work in coordination with sarpanches and MPTCs of villages for implementing Haritha Haram project successfully in the district by taking all necessary steps along with completing all pending works at the earliest.
District Rural Development Officer Anjaiah, MPDOs, APOs, Field Assistants and Panchayat Secretaries were present along with others.
