Cancer hospital in Suryapet on the anvil
Dr Chandra Reddy, an NRI and native of Pillalamarri of Suryapet mandal, evinced interest in setting up a cancer hospital in the district headquarter, provided the district administration sanctions required land for the hospital.

Suryapet: Dr Chandra Reddy, an NRI and native of Pillalamarri of Suryapet mandal, evinced interest in setting up a cancer hospital in the district headquarter, provided the district administration sanctions required land for the hospital.
Dr Chandra Reddy, a reputed Oncologist settled in US, has decided to establish a cancer hospital to render services to the affected poor.
On Wednesday, Dr Reddy along with his brothers Satyanarayana Reddy and Krishna Reddy, friends Keshava Rao, Anantha Ramulu and Ramesh Reddy, he met District Collector Surendra Mohan at collectorate and put his proposal before him.
He urged the Collector to provide five acres of land for the construction of cancer hospital in the district headquarter and informed that hospital would start functioning within a span of one year after allocation of required land.
Expressing his pleasure over doctor's proposal, the Collector ordered Tahsildar concerned to submit a detailed report within a week on the availability of land and possibilities to handover it to the doctor.
The Collector also informed the doctor that he would send reports to the government for the sanction of land to the hospital Majority people are unaware of cancer and its symptoms, cancer hospital that comes in Suryapet in near future would save the lives of affected in the district, the Collector hoped.
On the occasion, the Collector felicitated Dr Chandra Reddy for his noble thought. Later, the Collector along with DMHO Dr Muralidhar Rao and DCHS Dr Sampath Kumar inspected the available land of agriculture department in Suryapet town.
