Hundreds throng Basara Saraswathi temple
A large number of devotees thronged Basara Saraswathi temple here on Wednesday on the occasion of Vasantha Panchami celebrations.

The temple authorities celebrated the birthday of Goddess Saraswathi with priests conducting Mahabhishekam and decoration during the midnight. The priests performed “Maha haarathi” after conducting Saraswathi Ammavari puja.
The devotees started pouring into the temple in large numbers from Tuesday night to have a darshan of Sri Saraswathi Ammavaru after taking holy bath in the River Godavari. The devotees participated in Ammavari Abhishekam and Alankarana Seva.
In the early hours of Wednesday, priests organised “Aksharabhyasam” program to children. Devotees could have darshan of the presiding deity after five hours due to the heavy rush.
