Local mandal-level Extension Officer Nazeeruddin was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials at a hotel here on Thursday while allegedly accepting Rs 16,000 as bribe for sanctioning a bill to contractor Srinivas.
​Mancherial: Local mandal-level Extension Officer Nazeeruddin was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials at a hotel here on Thursday while allegedly accepting Rs 16,000 as bribe for sanctioning a bill to contractor Srinivas.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB) Papalal said that Nazeeruddin was arrested and will be produced in the court.
Srinivas told The Hans India that the Extension Officer has been harassing him for the past four months as he refused to pay the demanded bribe of five per cent of the bill amount of Rs 5 lakh.
He approached ACB officials who suggested that he offer 3 per cent. Later, ACB laid a trap and caught the officer.
