District Collector Dr V S Alagu Varshini ordered the officials to take all necessary steps for not only planting saplings under Haritha Haram project but also to protect them.
Peddapalli: District Collector Dr V S Alagu Varshini ordered the officials to take all necessary steps for not only planting saplings under Haritha Haram project but also to protect them.
She chaired a review meeting here on Thursday with the officials to discuss Haritha Haram programme to be organised by Excise department and the care to be taken to protect the saplings.
Speaking at the meeting, the Collector enquired the officials about the care taken to protect the planted saplings under Haritha Haram by the Excise department last year.
With the coordination of officials of various departments, the State government’s prestigious programme of Haritha Haram must be implemented successfully in the district in the coming session along with identifying suitable places like community and society lands with a target of planting of 40 lakh saplings in every constituency, she directed.
Tahsildars must inform the officials of Excise department for planting the saplings after identifying suitable government lands and the dykes of lakes and tanks, which have been selected under Mission Kakatiya Project along with issuing bills that were sanctioned immediately.
Joint Collector Prabhakar Reddy, Excise Superintendent J Ravi Kumar and Divisional Forest Officer Krishnama Chary were present along with others officials.
