Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Shabbir Ali thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao for the decision of preserving the earlier design of the Pranahitha-Chevella package 20, 21 and 22 at the recently concluded Cabinet meeting.

Speaking to media here on Monday, Shabbir Ali said that it was the success of Congress Party which took out a padayatra demanding government not to redesign the Pranahitha-Chevella project.
The government changed its earlier stand of providing drinking water and irrigated water for farmers from the Kaleshwaram project, slammed Shabbir Ali. The project benefits 1.45 lakh acres of land, he added.
He expressed the hope that the people of Kamareddy and Yellareddy receive water for irrigation purposes within the next two years.
