Nizamabad: Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Mahesh Goud lashed out at the BJP led NDA government for cause immense hardships to the people by demonetisation the high value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 on Novemebr 8 last year ans said that the Congress would launch an agitation against it in the town sometime this month.

Speaking to the media at the DCC office here on Friday, he said that the poor, the farmers and the small traders were badly hit due to the non-availability of small change and cash and it became difficult for them to carry out their financial transactions. It is unfortunate that the Centre did not take into consideration, their difficulties, he lamented.

The PCC general secretary also came down heavily on Chief Minister for spreading lies and falsehood, thereby misleading the people of the State. He alleged that the TRS government was giving lot of trouble to the City Mayor, municipal corporators and other officials and also threatening them.

As a result, many of the employees of the municipal corporation were reluctant to work and going on leave, he added. Goud demanded a thorough enquiry into the circumstances that led to the suicide of Assistant Engineer Ventateshwarlu working in the Municipal Corporation.
