Adilabad: People of the villages which were adopted by Ministers and other celebrities thought that things would change for the better.

However, people of some of the villages are in despair as nothing changed so far. In fact things turned worse.

Yapalguda villages is one of such adopted villages and was adopted by Minister for Forests Jogu Ramanna. It has also four sub villages namely Kothaguda, Muthaguda, Rayuniguda and Yeshvanthguda.

There is huge scarcity of water here in all these villages with only one bore well. The villagers say this bore well will also get dried up in summer. There are no drains due to which cleanliness is lacking.

People here are facing hardships as the dirty water is spreading over the streets, causing pungent smell. The Minister who promised that roads would be laid on all the streets just only laid two roads.

When asked by the villagers, he said it was at the proposal stage and would start works immediately once funds get sanctioned.

There are many other developmental activities to be taken up such as development of school building, reconstruction of sub-primary health centre which is in dilapidated condition.

There is a requirement of ANM too. Community hall and bus shelter are also in dilapidated condition. 249 people who constructed individual toilets are going from pillar to post for getting their bills cleared.

With this, 150 others who are yet to construct individual toilets are taking back step fearing that the bills wouldn’t be sanctioned.Land allocation for tribal women is still pending.
