The two consecutive holidays drove them to visit the holy shrine. Thousands from both the Telugu States visited the temple and took holy dip in the Godavari River and later queued up to have a glimpse of the Lord.
Temple authorities extended the Abhishekam programme for one more hour in order to ease the pressure. It was estimated that around 25,000 had darshan on Sunday. They said that this was the highest number of visitors in last 50 days.
Member of Rajyasabha Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar, APIISC Limited director WVR Murthy, retired IPS officer Umapathi, Warangal Central Bank Chairman Janga Raghava Reddy and other prominent people were among those who offered special prayers.
