Teachers’ body demands transfers, promotions

Khammam: Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF) demanded transfers and promotions to the teachers by May this year.
Speaking at a general body meeting of the Federation in Khammam on Sunday, State general secretary of TPTF V Manohar Raju said by the end of summer vacations, the government must transfer teachers by giving promotions apart from filling vacant jobs through District Selection Committee (DSC).
Demanding the government to allot 20 per cent of State budget to education sector, he observed that it was not good to allot thousands of acres of government lands to private organisations which might affect government education sector in future.
He demanded the government to implement the GO for upgradation of Physical Education Teacher posts along with Language Pandits and to strengthen the government educations sector.
The meeting that was held under the leadership of District president V Venkateshwar Rao was attended by State Councillor of TPTF P Nagi Reddy, District General Secretary Vijay, Narasimha Rao, Nageshwar Rao, Prasad Rao, Y Srinivas, Riyaz, Rehman, Krishna Rao, O Srinivas, A K Ngeshwar Rao, Bhaskar and others.
