Centre, State maligning Opposition: Narayana

​Khammam: The ruling TRS in the State and the BJP at the Centre are trying to label the Opposition anti-Telangana and anti-national to cover up their failures, the Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary K Narayana said.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he wondered that those opposed Telangana State in the past have come close to TRS chief and the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, while the likes of T-JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram and the Communists, who vehemently supported the movement, turned out to be foes.

He said that governance in the State was not on the expected lines as people had hoped especially in the backdrop of Telangana formation. Moreover, if anybody questioned KCR, the TRS leaders were trying to label them anti-Telangana. The BJP-led NDA was also doing the same terming the Opposition anti-national, he added.

Neither the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu nor the Telangana CM has made any attempt to exert pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi either in getting special category status or the special package for their respective States, Narayana said, pointing out both the chief ministers’ failures.

Moreover, both the CMs were hobnobbing with the Centre. Time has come for the like-minded parties to seriously think about alignment at the national-level to counter BJP’s communal politics, Narayana said. Terming the demonetisation as a big scam, he also accused the Centre of protecting the corporate forces and the tax defaulters.

Party’s district secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao, senior leaders TV Chowdary, Potu Prasad, Jammula Jithender Reddy, Singu Narasimha Rao, Sk Janimiya, Md Salaam and Thati Venkateswarlu were among others present.
