​Wardhannapet: The District Collector, Prashanth Jeevan Patil, has on Tuesday launched a four-day free mega health camp at Gavicherla village of Sangem mandal in Warangal Rural district.

The health camp was being organised by Hanamkonda-based social service Sarvodaya Youth Organisation in association with a non-profit organisation Hand of Hope.

Speaking after the launching the camp, the Collector has asked the organisers to identify the cataract patients while promising to conduct operations with the help of the government.

Similarly, he also told the organisers to identify physically challenged persons to whom necessary support would be provided from the government.

He lauded the efforts being made by Sarvodaya in conducting the health camp and asked the villagers to make use of it.

Parkal MLA Ch Dharma Reddy said normally those living in the villages neglect their health. Conducting health camps in rural areas would help the villagers to get access to medical services in a better way.

Sarvodaya secretary Pallepadu Damodar informed the medical camp would be conducted in three other mandals in the next three days. As part of the health camp the villagers with eye, dental and blood related ailments were diagnosed and distributed medicines and spectacles free of cost.

Hand of Hope representative Dr Sherley David Raj thanked the officials and elected representatives for assisting in conducting the medical camp where six doctors from Hyderabad offered services. As many 925 patients were given treatment on the day.

Local ZPTC G Veeramma, MPP B Kattaiah, sarpanch P Ramesh, and his deputy K Mallaiah, market committee director G Sudharshan Reddy, Tahsildar Satyanarayana and others were present.
