Hanamkonda: Despite serious hostility fromruling faction towards the proposed protest rally on February 22 by TJAC seeking filling up of vacant posts, the JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram seems to be unyielding.

“Even a child born in Telangana will not fear bullets that is why we are able to achieve separate Telangana,” he stated referring to reported threats being made by the ruling party leaders. He asserted that they would not concede to the threats and would conduct the protest as scheduled.

Kodandaram, however, offered to withdraw the protest if the State government comes up with a firm assurance towards employment generation and filling up vacant posts.

He addressed a meeting organised at Kakatiya University on Tuesday by Telangana Students Unions JAC to make preparations for the rally.

Speaking to presspersons, he alleged that the TRS government was becoming increasingly intolerant towards public criticism.

The TJAC on behalf of unemployed youth in the State has asked the government to fill up one lakh posts as promised by it.

There was no need to react sharply and the intolerance being shown by the ruling party leaders was not normal. In democracy, it was not proper for a democratically elected government to respond in such a manner, he felt.

“It is our right to question the government when it fails to deliver its promises and we will definitely question.

The government should come up with a job calendar on the lines of common entrance tests to fill up posts vacant in various departments,” he said

“If the government is willing to address the issue, we will come up with a statement before the scheduled protest. Or else we will go ahead with the protest,” he said.
