He distributed cheques to the representatives of ‘Sitaramachandra Samakhya’ at a programme, organised by Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, at Padmanayaka Kalyana Mandapam in Karimnagar on Monday.

For the development of women, the State government is distributing Rs 40.30 crores in one day, apart from the Rs 60 crores, which was distributed already in the district, he added.

He advised the women not to believe superstitions and must provide education to their children along with developing technical skills to develop financially.

The Minister said the government has also allotted Rs 250 crores for the district under employment guarantee scheme, out of which only Rs 36 crores has been spent till date. He urged the women to make use of the available funds for their development. Stree Nidhi bank will sanction Rs 100 crore more for the development women in the district after a few days.

Krishna Rao suggested all the women, who has job cards, to utilise the opportunity by doing job work every day and can earn Rs 100 per day, which would be increased to 25 per cent in March and to 30 per cent in April and May.

Stating that people, who depend on agriculture, hardly work in the fields for eight to 10 months, he questioned them as to why they are not utilising employment guarantee scheme in the remaining months.

MLC Chief Whip Pathuri Sudhakar Reddy, MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, Husnabad MLA Satish Babu, District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, City Mayor Ravinder Singh were present along with District President of Women Federation Padma and Corporators.
