Hanamkonda: Even as uncertainty was prevailing over the conduct of unemployed youth rally planned by TJAC in Hyderabad on February 22, several organisations here have extended support to the rally.

A large group of activists, under the banner of Telangana Vidyarthi Sena (TVS), took out a rally and staged demonstration at BR Ambedkar statue in Hanamkonda on Monday in support of the TJAC rally.

The TVS founder, Tirunahari Sheshu speaking to presspersons on the occasion, demanded the State government come up with a job calendar on the lines of UPSC. Steps to fill up one lakh vacancies as notified by the government and 37,000 vacancies created recently in various government departments should be initiated.

The youth in Telangana took part in statehood movement and many have sacrificed their lives for the cause, hoping that they would get jobs in the new State. But they were now in a distressed state owing to the delay in filling up the posts, he pointed out.

The BC-JAC united Warangal convener P Surender warned the government to commence the process of filling up vacant posts before the youth in the State takes up agitations on the lines of separate Telangana.

The TJAC Warangal Urban president Ch Rajendra Prasad wanted the TRS government to respond to the JAC chairman M Kodandaram’s call to address the unemployed youth’s concerns on providing employment to them.

TVS leaders D Satish, K Pavan, G Sharath Babu, BC-JAC district convener T Purnender and others were present. The leaders called upon the youth to turn up in large numbers at TJAC rally in the State capital.

Similarly, Lok Satta Vidyarthi Satta’s state general secretary Thota Pavan has also extended solidarity to the February 22 rally by the TJAC. In a statement, he said so far the government has so far taken steps to fill up only 16,000 jobs as against 1,37, 000 vacant posts. The government has failed to give an assurance to unemployed youth on filling up the posts, he criticised.

It might be noted that student organisations like SFI, AISF, PDSU, TGVP, DSU, MSF and others have already extended support to the TJAC rally in Hyderabad and recently organised a preparatory meeting at Kakatiya University to discuss measures to make the rally a success.
