Aler: The 32 passengers of a Hyderabad-bound Warangal bus had a close shave on Tuesday when the bus they were travelling caught fire on the outskirts of Aler. The bus driver averted the mishap by alerting the passengers in time.

According to Aler SI Narasimhulu, smoke was billowing out from the rear end of the Hyderabad-bound Warangal depot Luxura bus when it reached JMJ School of Aler. Noticing the smoke, Izaz, the bus driver, stopped the vehicle by the road side and checked the source of smoke.

Soon, he alerted all the 32 passengers in the bus and asked them to get down to save their lives. Soon after the passengers alighted, the bus was engulfed in fire and burnt to ashes before the arrival of fire tenders.

Speaking to media, Izaz suspected the abnormal heat developed in the engine could have lead to the incident. Meanwhile, the RTC lost Rs 50 lakh worth Luxura bus.

After receiving information, RTC Warangal regional manager Surya Kiran rushed to the spot and collected information about the accident from the driver.

On complaint of bus driver, Aler SI Narsimhulu registered a case under fire accident and further investigation is on.
