Suryapet: A pall of gloom descended on Kodandaramapuram village, where two of its inhabitants were killed in a ghastly road accident that took place in Krishna district of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to relatives of the deceased brothers, Nalabolu Krishna Reddy and Nalabolu Shekar Reddy of Kodandaramapuram of Garidepalli of Suryapet, were coming home when the tragedy struck them.

While Krishna Reddy was working as software engineer in Bengaluru, his younger brother, Shekar Reddy, was a doctor with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Bhubaneshwar.

After a long gap, Krishna Reddy visited his brother in Bhubaneshwar. On Tuesday, they were returning to their native village and boarded Hyderabad-bound Diwakar Travels bus at Visakhapatnam.

When all the passengers were in deep sleep, the bus fell into a culvert near Mulapadu village of Penugrachiprolu in Krishna district allegedly due to driver's drowsiness.

After the incident, injured Shekar Reddy informed his parents about the tragic death of his brother Krishna Reddy in the road accident. Unfortunately, Shekar Reddy too died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Vijayawada.

Parents of the deceased, Sheshi Reddy and Kamalamma, who were dreaming about their sons' marriages, fell unconscious after hearing the tragic news.

After post-mortem, bodies of the deceased reached Kodandaramapuram in the evening. They are likely to be cremated Wednesday morning, sources added.
