The Warangal Commissionerate is hosting the sports meet. The Commissioner of Police, G Sudheer Babu, on Tuesday visited JNS Grounds, Balasamudram swimming pool, municipal indoor stadium, Urs tank, Madikonda Police Training Centre and other places, where different events would be held. He reviewed the arrangements going on for the sports and games meet.
He interacted with the officials and gave suggestions for the smooth conduct of the event and facilities required to be made for the participating sportspersons.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said more than 20 sporting events would be conducted during the five-day sports meet. Nearly 3000 police personnel and officials from across the State would participate in the meet.
‘Care has been taken to conduct the meet with international standards and the event would remain a memorable one in the history of Warangal police,’ Sudheer Babu noted. He released the mascot of the sports and games meet.
It might be noted that the Commissionerate official have began making arrangements for the meet for the past one month.
On January 18, he held a review meeting with police sports wing additional DGP VV Srinivas Rao and senior officials and sport coaches were told to identify grounds and courts with proper infrastructure.
Archery event has been included for the first time in the sports meet.
DCPs T Venkanna and Md Ismail, ACPs Muralidhar, Chaitanya Kumar, S Shoban Kumar, SM Surendranath and others accompanied the Commissioner.
