Karimnagar: Folk literature is the ground for all types of literatures existing today, observed noted poet and lyricist Ande Sri.

He launched a book, ‘Uttara Telangana Palley Sanskruthi-Shatavahan Parishodaka Vyasalu’ at Library Auditorium of Satavahana University in Karimnagar on Monday.

The Book is a collection of essays including Janapada Vignanam, Bodrayee, Durgamma Panduga, Veeruni Katha, Adla polalu and Amavasya written by 19 research scholars of Telugu department belonging to 2011 to 2014 batches.

Speaking on the occasion, Ande Sri said that it is good to see that young people showing lot of interest in Telugu literature and are becoming ideal for upcoming generations.

“More such type of research works must be carried on in Telugu literature,” he added explaining the importance of Telugu language and Telangana Culture.

Prof Thirumala Rao appreciating the research scholars said that the research scholars has made a great contribution to bring awareness on folk literature, which is forgotten by many people in the existing computer era, by publishing a book with several essays.

Prof Pulikoda Subba Chary, educationist K Jitendra, Dr S Jaikishan and Dr K Muthyam were present along with students.
