He said that turmeric and jowar are grown in large quantities in Armoor town. The former Speaker lashed out at the TRS government for raising the salaries of the legislators without offering MSP to the farmers.

The former reminded the farmers that during the Congress regime under the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy took several measures for the benefit of the farmers and they never suffered due to want of minimum support price.

Later, the farmers took out a huge rally through the main highway and conducted a road blockade near the Nizamsagar canal bridge in the town.

Tension prevailed for some time when they also raised slogans against the Revenue Divisional Officer. As traffic was disrupted, police swung into action and shifted the farmers.
