Nizamabad: Destiny has been very cruel and unkind to three persons, who were born with mental and physical disabilities 40 years ago. But, they were fortunate to have a mother who nurtured them with care and reared them for 40 years without any grudge or ill will. Ameera Begum symbolises the quintessential motherhood. Moreover, they also come from a very poor background growing up in abject poverty.

Going into details, the couple Mohammad Zainuddin and Amera Begum used to reside at Yedapalli mandal in the district Zainuddin who used to work as foreman in the Nizam Deccan Sugars Ltd died ten years ago and the family plunged in grief with five children, among which three of them, two girls and one boy are physically handicapped.

The entire burden of raising the family fell on Amera Begum when her husband died. While the second daughter Aliya Begum is 40 years of age, Amera’s son Rahimuddin is 38 years and the third daughter Azmeera Begum is 35 years.

Without losing heart, she is struggling hard to look after them with great care. She has to do everything for them including washing and feeding as they are immobilized and not in a position to attend to their daily chores.

Although several people expressed sympathy over their plight, none of them came forward to help them financially. She has also been lauded for looking after her children with tender care without deserting them. The family gets pension under the handicapped quota and they have to manage in ends meet with this meager amount.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Wednesday, Ameera Begum said that they have been facing several difficulties ever since her husband died ten years ago. She said that she has nobody to call her own except her five children and said that she was not in a position to work to eke out her livelihood.

She said that she has no time to spare as her entire time has to be devoted to look after her children. She urged the philanthropists to come forward and her help financially on compassionate and grounds.
