Khammam: The state executive member CPM Pothineni Sudharshan Rao urged all sections of people to participate in large numbers on the final day of Mahajana padayatra, to be held in Hyderabad on March 19, in Nizam College Grounds.

Speaking in a district body meeting held at Sundaraiah Bhavan in Khammam on Wednesday, Pothineni said Mahajana padayatra held for ‘Social Justice and Development of Telangana’ would reach Hyderabad on March 19 covering 4,000 kilometers in 31 districts for five-and-a-half months.

Pothineni said announcement of BC and MBC Commissions, laying foundations stones for construction of 2BHK houses, enhancing salaries of VRS’s and Anganwadi workers along with the schemes declared for Yadav’s and fishermen were because of the response to Mahajana padayatra.

“Before padayatra, the government was stubborn in solving public issues. But now, it realised that public are against the government and started taking decisions to solve the issues,” he pointed.

He urged people to participate in large numbers on the final day of padayatra in Hyderabad. CPM district secretary Ponnam Venkateshwar Rao, state leader Nunna Nageshwar Rao, district leaders and others attended the meeting.
