Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma will launch the second Telangana State Police Sports and Games Meet -2017 at JNS Grounds in Hanamkonda on Friday.
Warangal: Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma will launch the second Telangana State Police Sports and Games Meet -2017 at JNS Grounds in Hanamkonda on Friday.
The inaugural ceremony of the five-day event, being hosted by Warangal Commissionerate, will take place at 4 pm. Principal Secretary (Home) Rajiv Trivedi, additional DGPs VK Singh, J Purnachandra Rao, Govind Singh, Rajiv Ratan and several senior IPS officers will attend the ceremony.
Nearly 3,000 police personnel and officials from Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Warangal police Commissionerates, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Warangal ranges, railway, CID, intelligence wing and ministerial wings and others will compete to win about 1,283 medals.
The Commissioner of Police, G Sudheer Babu, who visited JNS Grounds on Thursday on a final inspection of the arrangements, said 16 separate committees have been formed to look after the arrangements.
More than 190 coaches and PETs will offer their services in conducting the event. On the first day of the sports and games meet 800 sprint event will be conducted for men and women.
