Hanamkonda: The revenue employees serving in Warangal Urban district have staged a protest wearing black badges at the district collectorate here on Monday, condemning the reported attacks on the on-duty staff.

It was alleged that a person called, M Suryanarayana along with his family members, has abused revenue staff using foul language and physically assaulted a Village Revenue Officer B Srinivasulu. The incident took place on last Saturday, when the staff went to inspect the alleged illegal encroachment of government lands in survey numbers 197 and 198 of Gadipelly village by the accused. Similarly in Kamalapur mandal of the district, the revenue staff was threatened with dire consequences for removing illegal encroachments in survey number 895 of Kamalapur village, the protesting staff complained.

The office bearers of different government employees associations, S Kiran Prakash, G Raj Kumar, Md Riazuddin, B Satyanarayana, D Sammaiah, G Ravinder, Rakesh and others submitted a memorandum to the District Collector seeking to ensure conducive environment for the staff in discharging their duties. “Because of the above incidents revenue employees are feeling insecure and are under tremendous pressure in discharging their lawful duties,” they said.
