Sister Nivedita School Grand, memorable day for grandparents
The Play School, the preprimary wing of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, celebrated Grandparents Day on Saturday. It was a special day and a moment of great pride both for ‘The Play School’ and also to the grandparents who had attended in large numbers.

Little children performed programme with all innocence, love and warmth for their grandparents. It’s not a hyperbole to mention that the entire grandparents and parents were wonderstruck to watch and listen to the three-four years perform with sincerity and earnestness. It is to mention that the old is not redundant, we need to learn a lot from the grandparents – their patience, persistence and perseverance.
The melodious rendition of a song by a grandparent of one of the students induced the feeling of how much we need to learn from the senior citizens. Games were conducted to the audience and the winners were awarded prizes.
The Principal Jayanthi Venkatraman, welcomed the gathering and saluted the grandparents for passing the baton of legacy to the generations comprising of life skills, with a blend of knowing the past, knowing the present and to live the future.
She also pointed the fact that experiential learning is much more than the knowledge gained from the text books. The entire programme was to show that grandparents play a vital role in the upbringing of their grandchildren.
