Nizamabad: Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) staged a dharna at the Collectorate in the city on Tuesday in protest against providing reservations on communal basis.

They also raised slogans against the State government. Speaking to the media, district BJYM president Raju lashed out against the TRS government’s decision to provide reservations to the minorities on religious grounds though the courts gave a ruling against reservations on religious grounds.

Raju said that reservations in jobs should not cross more than 50 per cent and if the government goes and ahead and provides reservations to the minorities, it would rise up to 62 per cent.

As a result, people belonging to other religious and caste groups would forego reservations, he lamented. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the District Collector Dr Yogitha Rana.
