Nizamabad: A family in Mupkal village in Nizamabad district is stricken by a mysterious disease and their family members, one after another began succumbing to it. What is more surprising is that the disease has stricken only a particular family and started claiming their lives.

Going into details, Maggini Narasaiah and Chinta Lakshmi have three children, two daughters and a son. While Narasaiah succumbed to the mysterious disease 20 years ago, it was Lakshmi who had to bear the entire burden of raising the family facing several hardships.

The agony of the mother knew no bounds when the two daughters, 22-year old Sunitha and 23-year-old Geetha were also stricken by the mysterious disease and passed away. She pinned her hopes on her only son Nagarjuna but that was not to be as he was also diagnosed with the disease.

Although he did not succumb to the disease, he lost his job at the patrol bunk and now, there is no bread winner for Lakshmi, who is forced to eke out her living by making beedis.

Lakshmi has spent all her hard earned savings in providing medical treatment to Nagarjuna in major corporate hospitals but to no avail as he still suffers from the deadly disease. Doctors could not fathom the mysterious disease though they thoroughly examined the patient.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, a distraught Lakshmi lamented that even the doctors at the corporate hospitals gave up in sheer desperation and told her that were not in a position to restore her son to normal health again. She said that she had to borrow money from several people in providing treatment but in the end, left disappointed.

A local resident Raju expressing surprise over the failure of the doctors to diagnose the disease said that three members of the family lost their lives after suffering for three years each. He said that the mother was facing immense hardships in making ends meet.
