Jagtial: District Collector Dr A Sharath ordered the health officials to attend the hospitals regularly without fail to provide better health services to the people coming to the government hospitals.

He paid a surprise visit to the Government Area Hospital in Jagtial on Thursday. During the inspection, he noticed that many doctors were on half-day leave and some were on casual leave while others were attending emergency cases. He ordered the health officials to be available even during out-patient (OP) timings of 9 am to 12 pm and12 to 2 pm.

The Collector assured that the vacant posts in the hospital would be filled up soon after discussing with the hospital superintendent on the vacant posts. Bio-metric system also will be introduced as early as possible to improve the attendance of health officials and staff in the hospital.

Pointing out that the pharmacy department was also not in order, he ordered the hospital staff to enrol the details and value of all medicines available in the pharmacy stores through e-ayushadi software system within two days. He also told them to appoint a radiologist for ultra sound scanning.

The Collector advised the health officials to provide better health services instead of referring patients to private hospitals. Stringent action will be taken on the negligent officials and also on those, who encourage their sub-ordinates and security guards to provide treatment to the patients, Sharath warned.

He also said that the name of the duty doctors along with their phone numbers will be displayed on the notice board and necessary action will be taken to prevent any untoward incidents in the hospitals.
