Suryapet: District Collector Surendra Mohan informed that by the end of 2017, as many as 23 Primary Health Centres (PHC) in the district would be developed on par with corporate hospitals. As part of it, Penpahad PHC was selected under pilot project.

On Thursday, the Collector visited Penpahad PHC and inspected the available infrastructure and examined the services of doctors. He interacted with patients and enquired about recently improved facilities in the hospital.

The Collector expressed his pleasure over the maintenance of hospital and operation theatre and appreciated the services and commitment of Dr Sudhir and his team. Saidi Reddy, an NRI, who visited Penpahad PHC along with the Collector, announced Rs 1 lakh donation for improving facilities in the hospital.

Collector thanked District Minister G Jagadish Reddy for sanctioning of Rs 2 crore for the overhaul of PHCs. With improvement in facilities, majority patients were opting for Penpahad PHC for their medical needs and institutional deliveries have increased considerably, he added.
