Ramagundam: Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Karimnagar, M Praveen Kumar appreciated the NTPC for its proactive initiatives, especially the Safety Kiosk to ensure safety at work place. He, the chief guest, inaugurated the closing programme of the 46th National Safety Week programme at EDC auditorium here in Ramagundam on Friday.

The 46th National Safety Week programme was celebrated here at NTPC from March 04 to 10. During this week-long programme, various competitions were organised for the employees and their family members to create awareness on safety.

Y Srividya, Inspector of Factories, Karimnagar, Guest of Honour of the occasion, also spoke on the safety benchmark of NTPC-Ramagundam. During this occasion, safety pledge was administered in English, Hindi and Telugu.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion, D K Dubey, ED-Ramagundam said that NTPC-Ramagundam in line with its corporate guidelines gives top priority for safety of employees and contract agency workers. Echoing similar view, GM (O&M) U K Dasgupta, GM (Technical Services) S R Bhavaraju, Ch Upender, General Secretary, NTPC Democratic Employees Union reiterated NTPC’s continuous efforts to ensure Zero incident at workplace.

Reading out the Annual Safety Report, Suresh Venkatesh, AGM (Safety) spoke on the various initiatives being implemented by his department throughout the year. He also highlighted the recently received Greentech Safety Awards for the station.

Earlier, Head of HR, M S Ramesh welcomed the Guests and stressed on “Safety First”.At the end of the closing ceremony, the chief guest along with other dignitaries distributed prizes among family members, employees, Safety Circles, contract laborers and agencies for winning different competitions.

A K Jain, GM (Maintenance), D S G S S Babji, GM (Operation), Senior officials, office bearers of different associations and union, employees, safety stewards and others were present in large numbers.
