Watersheds construction under NREGA scheme

Speaking at the two-day workshop held under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), the director said they were planning to construct check dams and water sheds due to surplus water in the district. He also said proposals were going on to construct rain harvesting pits at border areas to prevent water wastage.
Vijayachandra further added that earlier Central government was funding 90 per cent of works but it has reduced to 60 per cent.
We will identify the works by the end of the month and take all necessary action to start the works at the earliest, he said. Observer Gopala Krishna, District Rural Development officer P Jagath Kumar Reddy and others attended the workshop.
