Mission Bhagiratha works should be completed before deadline: Tummala

The minister chaired a review meeting on the progress of Mission Bhagiratha works at Palair, Wyra and Godavari segments with the officials concerned, at the conference hall of Technical Training and Development Centre (TTDC) in Khammam on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting, the R&B Minister directed the officials to speed up the Mission Bhagiratha works and complete the works of Palair segment by April and works of Wyra segment by August and Godavari segment works by October along with taking necessary steps for completing of trial run.
Of the total 86 construction works, which were being carried under Mission Bhagiratha at a cost of Rs 4,131 crores, 29 construction works were completed till date along with 2,460 kilo meters of pipeline works, said the Minister.
By completing the Mission Bhagiratha works first in the State, every household in Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts will be supplied with safe drinking water by giving tap connections, he assured.
The Minister suggested the officials and agencies, that have been supervising Mission Bhagiratha works, to cooperate in completing the works before to the prescribed time limit and assured them that there will not be any problems with the forest, railway and highway departments since the permission had been taken already from them.
Bhadradri Kothagudem District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, Khammam Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Superintending Engineer of Mission Bhagiratha Project K Srinivas, Executive Engineers P Shyam Rao, N Manikya Rao, Ravinder, Khammam Rural Development officer Purna Chander Rao and the City Municipal Commissioner B Srinivas were present along with others.
