​Warangal: Telangana State Commission for Backward Classes member V Krishna Mohan Rao has on Tuesday toured several villages in Warangal Rural district.

His tour was meant to study the social, financial and educational status of backward classes among the Muslim community in the wake of the State government’s decision to provide 12 per cent reservations in jobs and education to economically backward Muslims.

Krishna Mohan Rao has arrived here on Monday as part of his tour. On the second day of his tour, the commission member along with Warangal Rural District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil has visited areas populated by Muslims at Katakshapur of Atmakur mandal.

Several members of the community have brought their grievances to the notice of the visiting member. Responding to which he told them to approach the District Collector with their petitions on their needs.

Krishna Mohan Rao, while interacting with the community members, has enquired about the sources of income, educational background and their family details.

A detailed report would be submitted to the State government regarding the living conditions of the backward class Muslims.RDO Ch Mahender, District Minority Welfare Officer Sarwar Miya, BC Welfare Officer Narsimha Swamy and others accompanied the BC Commission member. The commission member also toured Jangaon district on Tuesday visited Muslim colonies and would visit Jayashanker Bhupalpalli district on Wednesday.
