Finance Minister Eatala Rajendar, who is representing Karimnagar district, showed severe discrimination on allocating funds to Satavahana University in the state budget, Democratic Student Union (DSU) Satavahana University (SU) unit president Rajashekar alleged.
​Karimnagar: Finance Minister Eatala Rajendar, who is representing Karimnagar district, showed severe discrimination on allocating funds to Satavahana University in the state budget, Democratic Student Union (DSU) Satavahana University (SU) unit president Rajashekar alleged.
The Finance Minister, who won with the votes of Karimnagar people and students, did not considered the district and neglected it in allocating funds in the budget, he criticised during a press meet here on Tuesday.
He said that they have given several representations to the Minister and also to people’s representatives to take initiation to develop the University along with solving various problems.
But instead of saving the education sector and the only University present in the district, the Finance Minister insulted the students by allocating only Rs 28 crores, he lamented.
By allotting more funds to Palamuru, Telangana and Mahatma Gandhi Universities, which are also established at the same time like that of Satavahana University, Eatala Rajender himself becoming responsible for the downfall of the University of his district, he alleged.
He demanded the government increase the funds for the development of the University keeping in view of the future of the students.
DSU Satavahana University unit general secretary Prakash and Kranthi, Naresh, Raju, Sri Latha, Madhuri and Bhavani were present along with others.
