District Collector Dr A Sharath directed the officials to observe every Tuesday as ‘Watering Day’ to save the saplings planted under Haritha Haram program.
Jagtial: District Collector Dr A Sharath directed the officials to observe every Tuesday as ‘Watering Day’ to save the saplings planted under Haritha Haram program.
As part of ‘Grama Sandarshan’ programme, the Collector visited Himmathrao Pet and Cheppial villages in Kodimial mandal in Jagtial district on Tuesday.
He inspected the progress of road lying works taken up under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in Himmathrao Pet village.
He observed the workers digging the soaking pits in the village and asked them whether water was supplied regularly to the saplings planted under Haritha Haram programme.
Collector Sharath took the water pipe from the workers and watered the plants that were planted last year.
He ordered the officials to observe every Tuesday as ‘Watering Day’ and to water the saplings regularly to save them keeping in view of severe heat conditions that may prevail in coming up summer season.
The officials and the peoples’ representatives participated in the Grama Sandarshan programme.
