Warangal: Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor Prof R Sayanna has profoundly thanked the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao for enhancing grants to the University in the recent budget.

The increased allocation of funds would help the university’s development and ensure better facilities to the students, he said while appreciated the special interest taken by the State government by increasing the budgetary allocation to the university.

The block grant of the university has been increased from Rs 67 crore to Rs 75 crore in the budget. An additional development grant of Rs 50 crore was also given and it could give a momentum to take up developmental activities in the university, the V-C said in a statement here on Wednesday.

These funds provided to the university would be utilised for construction of student’s hostels, development of roads and for providing of other required infrastructural facilities and amenities for the students of the university, he noted.

Prof Sayanna asserted that all the necessary steps were being taken up to excel in the fields of teaching and research and emerge as one of the best universities with the positive encourage offered by the government.

The V-C has also expressed his gratitude to Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari and Finance Minister E Rajender for their efforts in enhancing the budgetary allocation to Kakatiya University.
