Nakrekal: TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy advised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to stop betraying the people in the name of budget and to fulfill the pending poll promises given to dalits, tribes, minorities, poor and unemployed youth.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, he commented that the budget was nothing but a jugglery of words. Speaking over three acres of land to dalits, he said only 3,000 SC families got the land out of the total 3.30 lakhs of beneficiaries across the State. The government had ignored its poll promise of 12 per cent quota to tribals and a separate tribal university to pursue higher education.

Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded that the government should make thandas as gram panchayats for the welfare of tribals. Mocking at the Chief Minister, he said providing 2BHK houses to poor became a distant dream.

Thousands of poor people were dreaming of getting their own houses but not even 500 houses were constructed so far during the last two and half years. There was no progress in implementing the promises of 12 per cent reservation to Muslims, one lakh jobs to unemployed youth, fee reimbursement to students, he slammed.

Congress has been fighting on the behalf of the people in and outside the assembly to mount pressure on the government to fulfill its poll promises, he added. Uttam Kumar Reddy reiterated that Congress will come to power in the State in 2019 elections.

Congress leaders Mallu Ravi, Budida Bixamaiah Goud, former MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah and others were participated in the press meet.
