Khammam: State President of Telangana Medical and Sales Representatives Union (TMSRU) P Murali said medical representatives were striving hard for the good health of people and also for the welfare of medical workers.

Speaking to media here at Press Club in Khammam on Friday, Murali said many rallies were conducted; agitations and dharnas were staged demanding the government reduce the prices of medicines, implants and stunts for the sake of poor and middleclass who cannot afford.

Due to the dharna staged at Jantar- Mantar in New Delhi for two days, the government had reduced the price of medical stunts from Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 30,000, he informed.

He alleged that many irregularities were taking place in pharmaceutical companies due to the negligence of officials of Central government.

Because of foreign investments, the prices of medicines and other medical equipment were incredibly increased, which has become burden for poor and middleclass, he criticised.

He urged people of all sections to cooperate in the movement which they were going to take up to save local pharmaceutical companies in the State. Several representatives of TMSRU attended the press meet.
