KCR releases 75 lakh for Mutharam temple
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has released Rs 75 lakh from out of Special Development Fund for taking up development works at Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Mutharam village, Mudigonda mandal under Madhira constituency in Khammam.Â
​Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has released Rs 75 lakh from out of Special Development Fund for taking up development works at Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Mutharam village, Mudigonda mandal under Madhira constituency in Khammam.
The amount has been released from State Plan’s Scheme of “Special Development Fund for the welfare of developmental activities.” Khammam District Collector DS Lokesh Kumar has been asked to incur the expenditure for the amount sanctioned through the Endowments Department as per rules.
It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister visited the temple during his Khammam tour on February 16, 2016 and in response to the request from the villagers, he had agreed to consider release of funds for the development of temple. Consequent to the proposals received from the Revenue Department in this regard, the CM has sanctioned the amount.
Number of devotees visiting the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple has been on rise several fold on a daily basis. Besides, Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Kalyanam and Sri Ramanavami, several programs and ceremonies are being performed here at the temple throughout the year. The place is not convenient for organising the programmes.
The villagers wanted the main entrance to the sanctum sanctorum be widened, construction of a Yagashala, Kalyana Mandapam, kitchen, toilets, store Room, water tank, borewell and the laying floor for Pradhakshina. The need to develop this temple has been brought to the notice of the CM by villagers during the latter’s visit.
The temple that is 400 years old has deities similar to that of Bhadradri temple. Every year, the celestial wedding is performed in Muthram temple in the evening to enable the Talambralu of Bhadradri temple reach the Mutharam temple.
The ancient temple which was in a dilapidated condition was renovated and the funds released now would be utilised for further development. Sarpanch and villagers of Mutharam thanked the Chief Minister for his noble gesture.
