Mini-tank bund works move at brisk pace
The construction works of the mini-tank bund over Saddala Cheruvu are progressing at a brisk pace with desilting works set to be done by the advent of monsoons. Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy was paying special attention to the Rs 10 crore worth works, for which Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao had laid the foundation stone.Â
​Suryapet: The construction works of the mini-tank bund over Saddala Cheruvu are progressing at a brisk pace with desilting works set to be done by the advent of monsoons. Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy was paying special attention to the Rs 10 crore worth works, for which Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao had laid the foundation stone.
The tank was emptied releasing the water into the Nalla Cheruvu. The tank bund will be widened into eight-metre roads, and a walking track will be laid on either side of the tank. Cement benches and viewpoints will be provided to have a panoramic view of the tank and its surroundings.
A beautiful garden will be nurtured on the tank bund. Boating facility in the tank will provide an added attraction to tourists. Once the irrigation department is through its works, the municipality and tourism departments will step in.
The people of the town are elated at the prospect of their long-pending dream of mini-tank bund getting realised.
