​Khammam: The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) demanded the government to issue pension and health cards to the building workers immediately without any delay.

Speaking at the district body meeting of Telangana Building and Construction Workers Union here at Giri Prasad Bhavan in Khammam on Monday, AITUC district president B G Climont said the neighbouring states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala were giving Rs 1,000 pension to building workers through Government Welfare Boards and demanded the State government to implement the same here in Telangana for the welfare of building workers apart from providing free education to their children.

He also demanded the government to construct shelters at the important circles along with giving Rs 3,000 pension to the workers who crossed the age of 60 besides double bedroom houses to all workers. Several leaders of AITUC and members of Building and Construction Workers Union attended the meeting.
