Hanamkonda: Telangana Private Lecturers Association (TGPLA) leaders demanded that the State government reserve 50 per cent quota for the private lecturers under Gurukul teacher appointments.
A meeting with office bearers of the association was held in Hanamkonda on Tuesday. The association State president P Srinivas Goud, north Telangana secretary G Sathish Kumar, Warangal district in-charge K Srinivas and Vice-President Ch Shankar and others attended the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Srinivas Goud urged the government to focus on the issues being faced by private lecturers and take necessary steps to address them. There are nearly 94,000 private lecturers serving in 1,664 junior colleges, 986 degree colleges and 287 engineering colleges in the State.
