Khammam: The CPI came down heavily on ruling TRS stating that the pink party had failed to fulfil its poll promises despite in chair for the last two-and-a-half years.

Speaking at a district body meeting in Khammam on Tuesday, CPI district secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao said the TRS had taken a U-turn when it came to allotting three acres of land to Dalits and poor.

He mocked the government for allotting Rs 1,000 crore for the completion of Sitarama Project. “If the government continues to allot Rs1,000 crore every year, it will take 10 years for the completion of the project,” he pointed.

Stating that the government took the foolish decision of reorganisation of districts, Bagam added that without consulting other parties for their opinion and also about the problems that would arise later, the TRS reorganised the State into 31 districts and now it was rethinking to reduce them to 24.

Instead of reusing the overhead water tanks constructed by previous governments, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was investing huge money in introducing new projects like Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya only for the benefit of his family members, he alleged.

Demanding the TRS government to implement its poll promises, the CPI leader threatened to lay siege to Collectorate on March 27, and urged party activists and people to participate in large numbers to make the programme a grand success.

CPI party state secretary Potu Prasad, Jammula Jitendar Reddy, S Narasimha Rao, Thati Venkateshwarlu and B G Climont and others attended the meeting.
