Bhadrachalam: The arrangements for the 12-day Sri Ramanavami Tirukalyana Brahmotsavam of Lord Sitaramachandraswamy are going on a snail’s pace due to lack of effective coordination among government officials.

The Brahmotsavams will begin on March 29. While Sri Ramanavami will be celebrated on April 5, coronation ceremony of the Lord is scheduled on April 6.

Coordination among officials of Police department, Rural Water Supply, TS Transco, Panchayat Raj, Roads and Buildings, fire, irrigation, rural development is essential to conduct such a large scale festival.
Devotees allege officials of not paying full attention to the celebrations leading to slow pace of progress of works.

Talking to The Hans India, Executive Officer of the temple T Ramesh Babu said the deity’s Kalyanam tickets were priced at Rs 5,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 1,116, Rs 500 and Rs 200 each and those of Pattabhishekam (coronation) tickets were priced at Rs 250 and Rs 100 each were put up for sale on temple
website. In fact, 25 per cent of the tickets were booked online.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his wife Shoba, and Governor ESL Narasimhan along with Vimala Narasimhan would be extended invitations for the event on Ugadi day. Besides the CM and Governor, invitations would be extended to Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy and local Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on the same day. Outlets to sell Lord Rama’s akshintalu will be established.

Outlets to sell the deity’s prasadam at two important junctions of the temple town would become operational soon.

Meanwhile, District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanmanthu ordered officials to speed up works and make sure all arrangements in place as early as possible as the event was drawing nearer. He asked the officials to work in tandem and ensure that devotees faced no problems.

He directed the Rural Water Supply and Public Health officials to make arrangements for supply of drinking water in the summer.

He told the panchayat officials to improve sanitation in the temple town and on the roads as there were only six days left to kick off the Brahmotsavams.
